The TK Band has the distinction of being coached entirely by alumni, ever since the founding instructor Ms Irene Joseph retired in 1992:

Today, a team of about 15 alumni is involved in the band’s regular training sessions. They devote their weekends and, during competition season, even weeknights to working closely with the band, ensuring that it does its very best. Their dedication and passion has paid off in the band’s consistently outstanding performance in the Singapore Youth Festival, with the achievements of the Best Display Band Award from 1998 to 2006, and Gold with Honours in 2006 and 2008.
